Around the Apartment

The building that houses our apartment is an old family pension hotel which was converted in the early 70's.

The grounds are quiet and there is a secluded spot where you may sit out and enjoy a meal on the 2 sun loungers and pic nic table provided . This part of the Cote de Grace is tranquil and calm and a pleasant to the slightly more hectic Honfleur itself.

About 50 meters along the road there is a steep, but well made footpath down to the old town. At the head of this footpath is a great view across the town, the river Seine and on to the Pont de Normandie.

On a clear day you can also see the older Pont de Tarcanville. Follow the road round towards the old sports stadium and you will find the old fisherman's church, Eglise Notre Dame de Grace. This 17th Century church is dedicated to the life and work of seamen and is worth a visit.

See also the unusual, external bell tower and the nearby vista over the Seine estuary and Le Havre.
